Today DEFRA have announced a new grant benefitting English farmers who are looking to improve their farm productivity and enhance environmental benefits.
The new measures are broadly termed as the ‘Farming Investment Fund’ and the full details on the measures can be found here on the government’s website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/farming-investment-fund
The Farming Investment Fund is separated into these two parts:
Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (Grants Offered: £2000-£25000)
This part of the new funding provides grants towards the cost of capital equipment, farm machinery and technology to improve farm productivity sustainably.
Farming Transformation Fund (Grants Offered: £35000-£500000)
This part of the new funding provides grants towards large capital items to help farms improve sustainability, productivity and profitability on farms. This covers water management, improving farm productivity and adding value. While the ‘improving farm productivity’ and ‘adding value’ aspects of the fund are not open for applications yet, you can take advantage of the ‘water management’ aspect of the funding now, applications close on 12 January 2022.
