Moore Unidrill at LAMMA 2024 – In Review

February 23, 2024

So, let’s recap on LAMMA 2024.  In my youthful ignorance it took me until this year to realize that the abbreviation LAMMA stands for ‘Lincolnshire Agricultural Machinery Manufacturer’s Association’.  These humble beginnings in 1982 were a chance for machinery manufacturers of the day (many of which were based in Lincolnshire) to showcase their latest offerings to a captive audience of the arable heartland of England at various showgrounds in the region, Newark and Peterborough namely.

41 years later, the show has moved to the comparatively sub-Saharan climes of the NEC, exhibitors and visitors can enter the show without sustaining vast queues or ice-cold mud, only to find that a stand has blown away in the night (Lamma of 2018, anyone?).  Universally (or thereabouts) acclaimed as a change for the better, LAMMA at the NEC this year was in my view the best yet, with a record breaking 40,000 attendees.  Granted, still notable absentees (Horsch, John Deere, Claas?) but CNH were on show in force this year and the mood was very positive.  Now, perhaps this is the only UK show worth its weight, to see all the main brands in one place?  LAMMA has almost become the ‘UK’s Agritechnica’.  Visitors get a chance to view the best of agricultural technology with increasing global focus on environmental conservation, sustainable practices as well as hi-tech precision agriculture.

Certainly, exhibitors are paying a substantial amount more for a stand at the NEC over against a stand at Peterborough, but LAMMA is the principal show, and the conditions and suitability of the venue are unmatched.  Overall, however, we emerged from LAMMA cheery faced following a tough year for the British agricultural industry.  With the coronavirus era behind us, agriculture was able to look ahead with new revolutionary technologies approaching.

At Moore Unidrill, we were very pleased to feature in LAMMA 24’s demonstration area (see the video below) which is about as close as it gets to a working demo in the NEC 😉.   Also unveiled on our stand was our new ‘Grain & Fert’ drill, see more about this machine here : https://www.moore-unidrill.com/grainfertiliser-seed-drill-mdh-1400-dual-seed-hopper/ . Finally, we were delighted to celebrate fifty years of the Moore Unidrill brand.  We also enjoyed a constant flow of customers new and old on the stand.

If you didn’t get a chance to see us on the stand this time around, we’d love to hear from you on 01778 591225, or you can catch up with the action on our LAMMA overview video below!  If you’re still thinking about something you saw on our stand in January, our full range is available to view on our website, and if you’d like any more information, just give us a call.
