Representatives from Moore Unidrill were very pleased to visit The Netherlands and Belgium on the 22nd – 23rd September, supporting our valued Dutch dealer Agrotechniek at two separate events.
The visit commenced at the Wageningen University, with some field and crop research at Lelystad, The Netherlands. The university is currently running a 4-year rotation programme of trial plots between different crops, comparing differences in soil health and biology with the use of plough, min-till and direct drilling systems. This exciting programme manages 240 hectares of experimental sites on clay, sand and peat soils, all of which is below sea level!
A number of the trial plots on the site had been drilled using a Moore Unidrill earlier in the season. The project manager heading up the trial was very pleased with the progress of these plots, and reported the crops were looking well-established and healthy with good soil biology.
On the 23rd September, the team travelled 270km south for the Moore Unidrill’s debut in Belgium, specifically Oudenaard, at the Werktuigendagen Field Days, the largest Flemish agricultural demonstration fair, which attracts over 50,000 people.
The ground was unfortunately subject to extreme rain prior to the show days, meaning that the team were unable to work the demonstration plot on Saturday. However, the show was very well attended and there was abundant interest in the Moore Unidrill offering, with many farmers looking to move into min-till and direct-drilling practices. Representatives from Moore Unidrill even spoke to some farmers that had come from as far away as Canada! Thankfully, by Sunday the weather had given the show some reprieve and the demonstration plot was able to be worked. So ended a very exciting weekend for Moore Unidrill across two different countries!
